Notice of Public Hearing Concerning Program Performance and Accomplishments
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on June 26, 2025 at 6:00pm in Town Hall, 401 North Longstreet Street, Kingstree, SC 29556, the Town of Kingstree will hold a public hearing concerning to review program performance and accomplishments conducted under a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) project k now as CDBG Project #4-CE-21-012, Main Street Streetscape Improvements Project, wherein the following activities were undertaken:
The Town of Kingstree received $744,430 in CDBG funding and contributed $159,321 in local match funds for the construction of streetscape improvements along Main Street between Academy and Railroad Streets to include ADA accessible sidewalks and crosswalks, landscaping, lighting, benches, and trash receptables. The project beneficiaries are the residents of the Town of Kingstree. Based on HUD census data at the time of application, there are 3,070 persons of which 1,835 (59%) are low and moderate income.
This public hearing and the matters to be discussed are subject to the provisions of the Town of Kingstree Citizen Participation Plan, developed in anticipation of participation in the State of South Carolina’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, providing for the participation of the citizens of the Town of Kingstree in the planning and implementation of community and economic development projects which will involve CDBG funds.
The Citizen Participation Plan and the application are available for review at Town Hall, Monday-Friday between 9am-5pm.
