ARB Meeting/Public Hearing
The Architectural Review Board (ARB) of Kingstree, South Carolina will hold a public hearing on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 6:15 p.m. The meeting will be held at Kingstree Town Hall, located at 401 North Longstreet Street, Kingstree, South Carolina.
Case Number 2024-08-001A: THE BLACK PEARLS OF GENEALOGY [‘Applicant’], has submitted a request for a Certificate of Appropriateness (COA). The request is to permit the installation of a granite memorial monument, serving as decorative art and honoring the 435 free men, women, and children who boarded a train from Kingstree for Galveston, Texas, on January 15, 1867. This request is pursuant to the Kingstree Zoning Ordinance Sections 153.248 (COA Required) and 153.250. If approved, the COA would allow the [‘applicant’] to erect a monument at the front entrance of the Train Depot, situated at 134 East Main Street and Williamsburg County Tax Map No. 11-025-309.01, within the Core Commercial zoning district. All interested parties are encouraged to attend the meeting.
