Patrol
The patrol division is responsible for responding to calls for service throughout the town limits of Kingstree. Patrol cars are dispatched and the officers handle criminal complaints and traffic accidents within their assigned areas. The patrol units employ 12 hour shifts which allow for complete 24 hour coverage.
Training
The training unit supplies both in-service and specialized training to the officers of the department. This includes firearms and tactical training. All officers are required to complete in-service training each year as well as specialized training in the areas of taser, defensive tactics, firearms and legal updates. All outside training is coordinated through the training unit.
Criminal Investigations
The Criminal Investigations division is responsible for investigating crimes against persons and property. The officers in this division work cooperatively with the patrol units and together collect and process evidence from crimes.
Public Information Officer
The Public Information Officer (PIO) is responsible for the dissemination of information to the public through local television and print media. This division provides field media contacts during incidents, information for release to the media concerning bulletins, as well as updates on previous investigations.
