Criminal Investigations Division
The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) consists of a Criminal Investigator and a Narcotics Investigator. They are tasked with following leads in criminal and narcotics cases and are available to respond at anytime, day or night to the needs of crime victims or the scene of any incident.
CID works to follow up on reports of criminal activity initially reported to our uniformed patrol officers. They then establish the elements of the crime as defined by state law, identify, and apprehend the person responsible for the criminal act. They are also responsible for the forensic examination of crime scenes along with the evaluation and collection of evidence and the transport of fugitives from other jurisdictions. The Criminal Investigations Division plays an integral part in assisting the Solicitor’s Office in the prosecution of criminal cases.
