The Kingstree Architectural Review Board (ARB) consists of seven members appointed by Council to serve four year terms. The ARB protects the integrity of the Core Commercial Zoning District and ensures the level of quality of all constructed projects within the district. It reviews and approves work proposed within the Town’s historic, business, and downtown districts. The ARB holds its meetings on the first Thursday of each month.
The ARB has approved a palette of acceptable colors for painting buildings in the downtown historic district. If you are using any of these colors, you do not have to apply for permission.

Case Number ARB 2019-06-001A Whitney McGee, aka, the Paisley Pearl [‘Applicant’] is requesting a Certificate Of Appropriateness (COA) for exterior paint and signage designs in accordance with the Kingstree Zoning Ordinance Section 153.248 (A COA is required). If approved, the COA will allow for new exterior painting and wall signage at the front entrance and side of the business located at 136 North Academy Street, represented by Williamsburg County Tax Map # 11-025-160 and is located within the Core Commercial Zoning District.
